Natural Vitamins

When you go to the store now a day, you will notice that most of the vitamins you see are synthetically made through chemical processes, instead of being made directly from plants and other natural materials.  Although you see this, there are still a wide variety of manufactures that make natural vitamins.  Many people say that natural vitamins are much better for you than synthetic vitamins.  We will be taking a look at this claim.

First, we need to understand what natural vitamins are.  A natural vitamin is a concentrated nutrient derived from a good natural source.  They contain no artificial sweeteners, colors, or preservatives.  This seems like a better route to go since it comes from nature, but does it really have its benefits?

Synthetic vitamins are created in a laboratory.  They come from coal tar derivatives.   Why are those companies doing this?  It is much more inexpensive to produce than making natural vitamins.

One of the issues with taking natural vitamins is exactly how much are you getting.  For example, are you getting 500mg of vitamin C like it states?  Natural vitamins often do not contain exactly 500mg when taking a natural vitamin C pill.  This is because sometimes an orange has 50mg of vitamin C, while another may only have 30mg of vitamin C.  The bottles will explain how this may be the case.  Synthetic vitamins can put in exactly how much vitamin C is needed.

Another benefit from natural vitamins is that you can often take them on an empty stomach.  Since these vitamins come from nature, you can have them without eating first.  This would be the same as if you decided to eat particular foods that had the vitamins you needed.  Unfortunately this is often not the case with synthetic vitamins.   Often, they will instruct you to eat before you take the vitamin.

One final factor to think about is price.  Natural vitamins are usually more expensive than synthetic vitamins.  This can sometimes be a problem for people on a budget, but can be avoided if you do your research to find the best deals online.

In closing, we feel that it is more beneficial to your body and to the environment if you take natural vitamins instead of synthetic vitamins.  If more people buy natural vitamins it will bring the cost down, and it will also help save the environment.
